FAQ & Terms

All items are ONE OF A KIND. The piece you receive will be a variation from the online photo. Every item is hand dyed in micro batches in our NYC studio- due to our process of textile dyeing, you may see small flecks of composite colors resulting from the dye bath. For example, Indigo can produce small flecks of pink. We believe the prismic nature of our dyes is what makes our products unique and beautiful. We cannot guarantee specifics of vibrancy, shades or placement of colors. If you’re interested in a specific look, please contact us for a custom order.

You’re welcome to exchange any full price unworn, unwashed merchandise within 7 days of delivery. Please note all exchange shipping charges are the buyers responsibility. Items must be in original condition.

We exclusively use high quality 100% mulberry fed silkworms for our silk. The resultant cocoons are boiled to kill the silkworm before the long continuous fibers from the cocoons are unwound and spun into thread, then woven into fabrics. As far as sustainability, the mulberry trees require very little except water, and all trees are good for our planet.

Some notes on our dyes-

Due to the nature of small batch dyeing with fibre reactive dyes, small flecks of composite colors may appear on your fabric when the dye seperates. We embrace colors making each piece one of a kind.

This fabric is also known as Silk Noil. This Regenerative Agriculture Smooth Silk Noil was purchased from a business that creates environmentally conscious textiles through the best practices in the industry. They've set their standards high with transparent business practices and a trusted supply chain by integrating socially and environmentally responsible approaches to benefit all stakeholders, communities, and nature. It's a nubby fabric in a natural off-white color. It has a somewhat rough texture but it has a soft gentle drape. The texture of silk noil can be surprising. It is flannel/cotton like with short nubby slubs. Silk Noil is untreated silk reeled from the cocoon and covered with a protein called seracin.  Seracin contains amino acids and collagen that can be directly absorbed into the skin.  If you rub the silk noil on your skin you can feel the moisturizing benefits to your skin. It's great to use if you struggle with dry skin, acne, and eczema.

Silk - We suggest using a mild detergent specifically for silk that does not include bleach, brighteners, and softeners. We recommend cool water and placing the items inside a mesh laundry bag for further protection.

For drying, the best option is hang dry away from direct sunlight. If that is not convenient, one may use the 'air only' dry cycle on a dryer. Please avoid heat as it will damage the silk protein, remove the shiny sheen and decrease the silks durability.

To maintain silk longevity we recommend hand washing with a gentle detergent like Meyers and hang drying

If a Spill Occurs: Dab spills immediately with a clean, dry, white cloth. Then, if needed, use an appropriate spot cleaner. Pretest any cleaner on a small, inconspicuous area before proceeding. Do not saturate fabric with cleaner. Pat instead of rubbing to avoid damaging the fabric. Clean spots or stains from the outside to the middle of affected are to prevent circling. Pile fabrics may require brushing with a non-metallic stiff bristle brush to restore appearance.
