At the market with Sarah Magid of Knead Love Bakery

Sarah Magid of Knead Love Bakery is the mayor of the Union Square Farmer's market, in my opinion. If you're not familiar, it is New York's hottest club and a fun time to pack in some socializing in the wee hours of the morning. Sarah can tell you about any farmer, all of the produce, flowers, plants, cheeses, what's in season and then toss out a casual recipe in the midst of conversation. Sarah and I connected years ago over our unabashed love for color when she was in her past life as a jewelry designer.

At Knead Love, she makes nutrient dense, high vibe, baked goods involving a longer fermentation process and made in small batches by her and her team. She understands nutrition at a deep level having battled her own personal health issues but also is a gourmand at heart and a wonderful, sharp, funny and kind human.  I had the pleasure of "going on tour" with Sarah around the market last Wednesday to checkout some of her favorite stands.   • Fantasy Gardens- unique houseplants, tropical varieties and special flowers that are well-priced and abundant for gifts and personal pick-me-ups!


Amoon Farm- Mystical farming where unique plants, herbs, and flowers are sold, things like strawberry spinach, woven garlic for the kitchen, beans, and farmer Ahmed grows dahlias and more.

Valley Shepard- sheep yogurt that pairs with our granola, beautiful delicious assortment of hard cheeses, ricotta and yogurt mostly made from sheep or cow milk.

Last but not least...

Here is Sarah's roundup 

1. the kokomo platter- always brings out the best when Im entertaining to have a beautiful plate for crackers and dip.

2. Raw silk garden party beach throw- I use to as a top layer for my tablecloth or wear it at the beach as a sarong.

3. Pillowcase in galaxy- because it's the most soft, comfortable, and  luxurious way to lay my tired lil head at the end of a busy day!
