What are you listening to?
Currently, I am listening to a playlist that has some Rosalia, Frank Ocean, Lady Wray, Systema Solar, Aurelio, La Tuctuructia, and Bomba Estereo. I also listen to a lot of podcasts some favorites are: Ologies, How to Survive the End of the World, At a Distance, and anything my cousin Katherine Aaron produces.
Where do you look for inspiration? Scientists, natural ecosystems, the ocean, forests, long deep conversations, dance, a really good meal.
What’s for dinner?
Mushroom sweet potato tacos with homemade tortillas, roasted corn salad, black beans, pickled carrots, and some hot chipotle salsa. Oh! And an apricot lemon basil cake for dessert.
Where do you create?
I am the most creative when I am in a park or cafe writing down new ideas or sketching in my notebook. When I am in Paris I make most of my work in my studio and at a shared pottery studio, but when I am traveling I have been lucky to have friends who open up their studios to me or connect me to local fabricators.
What is a typical day like for you?
The only thing that I have been able to keep consistent for the last 6 months is a cup of black tea in the morning and lot of walking. Every day has been very different which has stretched time and left me with a lot of new stories.
When do you feel like your truest self?
When I am swimming in the ocean or sea, when talking deeply with a close friend/family, when I am flowing making, dancing, and when I am hosting a big dinner party.
Can you tell us what your favorite Upstate item is and why?
I am a longtime Upstate fan and have loved many items over the years. My two favorite items right now are my Kokomo Glasses and the Canvas Chore Shirt that I stole from my partner.
